What drives pest problems in Thane
Thane is called the city of lakes, and it is also bordered by the Yeoor hills and the Thane Creek. Water and greenery on all sides make it a demanding place for pest control.
- Mosquitoes breed in and around the lakes, the creek's edges and the many construction sites along Ghodbunder Road. Numbers peak from July to October.
- Termites are common in buildings near the hills and in homes with wooden doors, wardrobes and kitchen units. Subterranean termites build mud tubes up walls; drywood termites leave small piles of pellets below furniture.
- Cockroaches are the most frequent call in Thane's high-rises, where they spread through shafts and chutes.
- Rats are a problem in older central Thane, around markets, and in low-lying areas like Diva during the monsoon.
Homes, societies and businesses
For a flat, a gel-bait cockroach treatment takes one to two hours, and you can use the kitchen again the same day. For housing societies we treat common areas under an AMC. For offices, shops and food businesses in Wagle Estate and central Thane, we plan visits around your hours and issue a certificate after every visit for your audit records.
